(Naples, FL – August 14, 2024) FC Naples, Collier County’s first professional soccer team, is pleased to announce its first round of open tryouts, brought to you by Tide Cleaners, will be held September 7-8, 2024 at the Paradise Coast Sports Complex.
“We are looking for a blend of veteran players and new talent, looking to grow with FC Naples. This is the perfect opportunity for local athletes to showcase their talent and potentially earn a spot to play for their hometown’s first team,” said Coach Matt “Gaffa” Poland.
While FC Naples has an extensive network of agents and players throughout North America, South America, and Europe, the leadership team is invested in helping local athletes achieve their potential. This event will have space for 55 players over 16 years old by September 1, 2024. Registrants must submit a CV, highlight reel, and $55 registration fee at www.FCNaples.com.
Over the two-day tryouts, players will complete conditioning drills that will test their physical prowess, game knowledge, and individual performance. They will be observed by a group of coaches to determine which players have the potential to play professionally. Selected players will advance to an invitation-only tryout event later in the year.
FC Naples co-owner Nico Cantor, of the popular CBS Sports programs “The Golazo Show” and “Morning Footy,” will also be on the pitch during the tryouts. Nico provides in-depth coverage and commentary on the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and many other tournaments on CBS Sports’ 24-hour soccer channel “The Golazo Network.”
“Soccer unites communities around the world. Naples now has a place where the community can support hometown players’ paths to professionalism. Their journey and leadership can help inspire more young players in Naples to dream of one day reaching the ultimate heights of soccer. I’m excited to be on the pitch for such a momentous event,” said Nico Cantor, co-owner of FC Naples.
